Pac-Man

It's your job to keep PAC-MAN as happy as possible. You must guide him around the maze so that he can eat video wafers and power pills. Protect him from the ghosts unless he has the super strength of a power pill. If he does have the super strength, help him chase the ghosts and gobble them up before they gobble him.
Review By Ken Inferno
The game that began the legend, that now spans more than 30 years from this game's 1981 release, is still alive and kicking today. This has got to be one of the best Arcade games ever made. Who would have thought you could have so much fun with a partially-eaten pizza, a bunch of dots, and four ghosts? Well you can, and lots of it.

GAMEPLAY: The gameplay in Pac-Man is so simple, anyone who can hold a joystick can master it. All you have to do is move around and eat all the dots, and the occasional fruit, while avoiding your four foes, Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde, who float around the maze-like game after you. If you eat a power pellet, however, you can turn the tables on your foes and eat them as well, but the pellet's effects only last for a short time. It sounds like its almost too simple to be entertaining, but Pac-Man is without a doubt one of the most addictive games around.
GRAPHICS: For a 1981 Arcade game, Pac-Man had some pretty sweet graphics, but by today standard's, the graphics are horrible. Back then though, you played games because they were fun and entertaining, not because they looked good.
SOUND: There really isn't that much sound in the game beyond Pac-Man's munching noise. The music that plays when you lose a life is pretty decent, but it's very short. Seriously though, who plays Pac-Man for the sound. No one.
REPLAYABLE: This game is loaded with replay value. This game has got to be one of the most addictive Arcade games of all time. If their were a Pac-Man Players Anonymous in the 80's, I would have definitely been a card-carrying member. Let's just say I wasted a small fortune playing this game and replaying this game and replaying this game...
TO PLAY OR NOT TO PLAY, THAT IS HERE THE QUESTION: Definitely find some way to play this game. Some arcades, bowling alleys, or old pizza places might still have this old-timer juiced up and ready to play. You can also play it on your computer, but it doesn't compare to the actual Arcade game.
OVERALL: Graphics and sound aside, Pac-Man rules. One of the most popular games of all-time, maybe even more so than Mario or Donkey Kong. The first installment in Pac-Man's more than 30 year legacy is one of the greatest games ever. Namco, Midway, I applaud you.
